Death to flower crowns. That was my story on 12th & Broad's Broad Style and I'm sticking to it. Hangout Festival wrapped up Sunday in Gulf Shores, Alabama with another killer lineup. Hangout has quickly become one of the most anticipated festivals of the season, but what's up Gulf Shores? You clearly did not get the flower crown memo. I saw so many photographed that I shutter to think about how many were really there. I have a feeling Bonnaroo won't be much better, so I'm holding out hope those ridiculous flower bands won't be front and center at my dear Lollapalooza in August. While I love a good boho moment, it's just not very interesting when something flared and flowing is paired with a fringe cross-body bag and a flower crown. Spring trends are so wearable this season, it's easy to translate bold florals, gingham, prepster chic and classic denim into a new and updated take on festival fashion. Coachella nailed it this year with looks that were functional and cool. Here are a few of my favorites.
