Last week was a challenge. To start, I figured out how to pack 5 1/2 days worth of clothes into a carry on. If you read my packing hacks on 12th & Broad, packing lightly isn't really my strong suit. But I managed to do it and I was never so glad to only have that carry on when my departing flight got canceled....three times. Instead of leaving Sunday night, I ended up leaving on a 6am flight on Valentine's Day (Tuesday) morning. At least I got to take two outfits out of my very packed carry on. After a very long day, I had a lovely Valentine's Day dinner at Delvetto's Restaurant in Neptune, NJ. After having been awake since 3:45am and a full day of work, I was ready for some Italian comfort food. It was just what I needed and then I promptly went to sleep. It was a shame I was so tired because there was a killer outlet mall next to my hotel. I probably could've done some damage in the Burberry, Addidas, Theory, Elie Tahari, Calvin Klein and Kate Spade outlets. If you're in Neptune or the Asbury Park area, definitely add a stop to the Jersey Shore Premium Outlets.
Wednesday afternoon I was supposed to fly to Rochester for Thursday and Friday meetings. I guess the airlines had another plan, because 30 minutes before I was supposed to board, my flight got canceled due to mechanical issues. Big praise for that carry on again! Never have I been so thankful to have all of my things with me. To make this long story short, I ended up on a flight back to Nashville because I couldn't get to Rochester in time to make most of my meetings. Just like that 5 1/2 days turned into a little less than 48 hours.
My Tuesday travel day was easy with my Kamali Kulture gray long sleeve jersey dress from UAL and my BCBG cropped leather jacket from Flip. I didn't snap a photo of this one since I wore this dress on my Memphis trip a few weeks ago. These dresses are polyester and spandex so they are perfect for travel. They don't wrinkle and they keep their shape.
I decided to wear a little color on Wednesday to mix up my typical all black palette. Leona by Lauren Leonard prints always have a bit of whimsy to them and this shoe print is one of my favorites. Once I realized I was heading back to Nashville, I made a quick change at the airport and went back to my basic black jeans and turtleneck.

I'm happy to be spending this week in Nashville again, especially with the weather in the 70s. It's looking like I'm off to Knoxville for a few days next week and then I'll be in McLean, VA. I'm excited for the McLean trip because I've never been to Washington, D.C. Fingers crossed I can get a little sight seeing in.
