What better way to pair one of Kate Spade's cute Valentine's Day inspired bags than with a Nasty Gal cut out dress? More here on this week's How To Wear It.Read More
It's officially boot weather and I've been bootie obsessed. This season I'm determined to find the perfect pair of chelsea boots without breaking the bank. I'm a sucker for an almond-shaped toe and a low heel. But there are so many interesting boots and booties this season, I'm finding it hard not to want all of them. I love a bootie for its versatility. I have booties I wear all summer with shorts during festival season. I have booties that work great with dresses and skirts. And I have yet to find a pair that doesn't work with cropped denim. Here are a few of my favorites, and yes, I had to include a few sneakers and oxfords too. I'm ready to give my feet a little heel break. [show_boutique_widget id="316410"]
I'm in final Lollapalooza prep mode and over the years my most comfortable days at the Fest have been the days I've worn dresses. Anthropologie's Seren Dress would be the perfect breezy dress for those long (and hot) days in Grant Park. I can easily throw a denim jacket over it for those nights when it gets a little chilly. Switch out the boots for a pair of sandals and now I have my new favorite brunch dress. Click the + sign in the collage below for more information on the items listed. Most are part of the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, so there are some great deals! [show_ms_widget id="23641224" image_id="25248764" width="675" height="580"]

These aren't your typical girly-girl Laura Ashley florals. These florals are as big and bold with their color as they are with their design. They're edgy and fun and make anything in your closet instantly more modern. The floral print on this Anthropologie skirt is large enough that it's almost more of an abstract print than a floral. I chose to pair this high waisted maxi with a crop top, but a tucked in tank top or sleeveless blouse would look just as great. I kept everything neutral here to let the maxi skirt be the focal point. Have some fun with accessories and make sure to add a bold bright lip and nail lacquer to finish off your look. Transitioning from summer into fall is my favorite time of year. I love to take a summer essential, like a crop pant or a maxi dress, and throw on a jacket and a pair of booties. Just like that, I've got a whole new way to wear those easy summer pieces and stay warm as Fall's first chill hits the air. I love a good printed pant and this geo-prism crop pant from Anthropologie is the perfect pair to transition from summer to fall. Here's how I would style it now, with a flowy tee from Free People and a pair of sandals. By September, I'll want to wear a blouse, leather vest (this one is faux!) or jacket and a killer pair of booties.

The Black Friday frenzy is officially here. I don't know about you, but all these Black Friday television commercials are making me feel a little anxious. I prefer to shop without 800 people hovering around me, so you'll find me shopping our local boutiques as much as I can. I've checked out a few of my favorites this week and they have some great gift items that you're going to be much happier giving and receiving. This Saturday is Small Business Saturday, but really every day should be a day that you support local businesses. It makes a huge impact in our community and they're the businesses that are making this city a cool place to be. We need to show them some love as often as we can, so start this weekend! 12 South
