One of my favorite movies is Almost Famous. I love the story, the characters, the dialogue, the music...literally everything. Truth be told, if I'm having writer's block, this is the movie that gets me out of it every single time. The styling in this film captures exactly what was happening in early 7o's fashion. Kate Hudson's iconic character, Penny Lane, dreams of going to Morocco and her style in this film stays with you long after the credits end. It's that gorgeous shearling coat. That coat is her armor. It's her safety net. It's the piece that transformed her from Lady Goodman into Penny Lane.
I like to think Penny would approve of today's boho-inspired looks. Lanvin's entire Fall 2015 collection, with its nod to Morocco, seemed designed with Penny in mind. This season is full of brocade, shearling, flared denim, crop tops, suede, velvet, band tees, maxis and more. It's the modern take on the 70's that make these pieces look less vintage and more like Penny all grown up.

Transitioning from summer into fall is my favorite time of year. I love to take a summer essential, like a crop pant or a maxi dress, and throw on a jacket and a pair of booties. Just like that, I've got a whole new way to wear those easy summer pieces and stay warm as Fall's first chill hits the air. I love a good printed pant and this geo-prism crop pant from Anthropologie is the perfect pair to transition from summer to fall. Here's how I would style it now, with a flowy tee from Free People and a pair of sandals. By September, I'll want to wear a blouse, leather vest (this one is faux!) or jacket and a killer pair of booties.

If you live in Nashville, chances are you're figuring out what to wear to Iroquios Steeplechase this Saturday. It can be a long day out in the sun and your attire for the day really depends on whether you're tailgating in the infield or sipping mimosas in the Hunt Club. For this week's How To Wear It, I chose a floral dress from Joie and styled it two ways. One for the infield and one if you're headed to your box seats. Of course you should pack your rain boots, and a jacket. We all know the weather can take a turn at the drop of a fancy Steeplechase hat.

I'm ready for the warm weather to get here for good so I can finally wear my new Wilt paneled tank dress. I will live in this dress this summer and thanks to Soca Clothing for gifting it to me after I hosted the Chaser 'Tee' Party during Nashville Fashion Week. I love tank dresses like this, because they're fun to layer on the jewelry and they're perfect for those sweltering summer days. I'm having a turquoise jewelry moment, so you'll probably start seeing a lot of it in my style sets this spring/summer.
