Finally it feels like Fall in Nashville and that makes me pretty excited to break out the sweaters, boots and of course...coats! You can still find some final markdowns on Summer items, but right now it's all about what's new for Fall, special events and trunk shows. 12 South
Moda Boutique - Have you seen Moda's shoes yet? Yes, I said shoes! These little beauties found their way into my closet last week. (I snagged this photo from Moda's Facebook page.) If you've ever questioned shopping at a boutique versus a department store, consider this...these shoes were a little under $100 at Moda. I decided to look them up online to compare and found them at Nordstrom for $224.95! Don't believe me? Check the Nordstrom site.
Will I shop the new Nordstrom? Yes. If I said no, I wouldn't be honest with you. I shopped there last weekend and it's a lovely store (I'm still finishing my post), but at the end of the day we all need to strike a balance between boutique shopping and department store shopping. That's why Mizzie and I and Stella Shops are here. Our goal is to help you all be savvy shoppers. We're here to help you do the homework and find the best deal on those favorite items. Let's not forget that many of our local boutiques have played a huge role in making Nashville a fashionable city. Now more than ever, it's critical we continue to shop local when we can.
House of Stella - This fabulous new boutique is stocked full with super affordable and on-trend apparel and accessories. There is a small sale rack in the back, but nearly everything in the store is under $100, so make sure you check out all of their new goodies for Fall. I fed my jacket addiction this week with a grey wool military jacket that I am now obsessed with. I'm ready to wear it every day. They're also about to receive a new shipment of Jeffrey Campbell shoes, so visit them in the Target shopping next to Plato's Closet soon.
Five Points Collaborative (An Idea Hatchery) - We've been talking for some time now about the Goodbuy Girls' and Alegria's new location in East Nashville. The new Five Points Collaborative is located next door to Art & Invention Gallery and is the home to eight small businesses. Visit the Goodbuy Girls and Alegria on Saturday, Sept. 24 for their Grand Opening Celebration from 6-9pm. Mayor Karl Dean will be on hand at 1:30pm for a ribbon cutting ceremony.
Ivey - There are still a few sale items left, but there is a gorgeous Fall collection of apparel and jewelry you need to see.
whats-in-store - This sale is ONLINE only, but it's a good one!
The Cotton Mill - Happy Birthday!! Celebrate with The Cotton Mill this weekend. Everything is on sale!
H. Audrey – Our September Spotlight store!! We love this boutique and there is some gorgeous Fall merchandise in stock. There is also quite a bit of apparel marked down 30-60% off.

nD Festival - Sept. 28 starts the second annual nD Festival which benefits the Belcourt Theatre. This was a fantastic event last year and we are super excited for the festivities to start on Wednesday and conclude on Sunday, Oct. 2 with a fashion show featuring nD Emerging Designer Contest winners Jamie and the Jones, Steven Alan and Bodkin. And you'll definitely want to take part in the East Nashville Boutique Crawl happening on Thursday. We'll have a special post in the next few days dedicated to all the details of these activities, but you should consider getting your tickets now. A portion of all proceeds from ticket sales for these events will go to the Belcourt Theatre.
Have a fantastic weekend. Use our Boutiques page on your iPhone or Droid to guide you to all the sales and events by neighborhood.
